Kristiansand is by far one of Norway's funniest coffee towns! It is one of the cities with the most coffee roasters and, in addition, it has many different types of coffee shops.
Experience coffee roasting live at Tiara, have an espresso with a cigar at Cuba Life or enjoy an affogato from Sval in the southern sunset.
Tiara Kaffebrenneri is a local microbrewery in the quadrature — in the middle of Kristiansand. They have two cafes and a distillery as well as an online shop selling everything from freshly roasted coffee to brewing equipment, tea and interior products. They have a large selection of teas, baked goods, baked goods and simple hot dishes. The coffee roaster is inside the coffee shop, so a hot tip is to stop by on Wednesdays so you can witness the roasting of a batch or two.
Cuba-inspired coffee shop! Cuba Life is the oldest coffee shop in Kristiansand. They offer most of their espresso and hand brew with coffee from, among others, their own plantation, roasted by Corado Coffee Roasters. In addition to specialty coffees, they offer something baked, simple lunch dishes and a selection of Cuban cigars for those who want something extra for everyday or party.
Camillo Bastrup has over the years become a favorite for many. It's understandable. Here you get top service, baristas who have extensive experience and who really know their craft. They sell various coffee equipment, offer coffee from several different distilleries and offer lunch dishes and baking. The venue is located at the top of Markens gate. They usually have good seating!
Sval gelato and coffee is an exciting and welcoming coffee shop in Kristiansand's busiest shopping street. In Markens gate on the way down towards the sea and the Nupen facility are the bright premises with large window surfaces, wooden interiors and concrete details. There is seating both outside and inside. Behind the counter you will find very accommodating baristas who cook up the most exquisite specialty coffee. Plus, they offer free tastings from a meandering counter of real Italian gelato. They have on top of it all a wide variety of baking and lunch dishes.
We recommend bringing a coffee and gelato down to the beachfront and watching the sunset.
Sørlandet Kaffebrenneri was established by Steinar Svenning in 2013. After several years as a barista, and with a background as a master chef, it was time to step out into the world to bring the finest and tastiest coffee beans back home to Norway. Today, Steinar and his coffee roasters travel all over the world to fetch coffee. They buy coffee directly from producer countries and transport it themselves back home to Norway. You can buy their coffee in several coffee shops in the south and east of Sweden, as well as in their online store.
